What is a Notional Budget?
A Notional Personal Health Budget is where the NHS holds and manages the budget on your behalf. You are still involved in decisions about your care, including the support you need and how it is delivered, but you do not receive/manage the money directly.
Instead, the NHS arranges services with approved providers and oversees all payments, contracts, and delivery of care. This option offers a simple, fully managed approach, with clear structure and oversight, while keeping you at the centre of care planning.
