What is a Third-Party PHB?

A Third-Party Personal Health Budget is where the NHS provides funding to an independent organisation, such as a provider, who manages the budget for you.

The third party may also employ Personal Assistants or care staff, including managing contracts, payroll and employment responsibilities on your behalf. You still have a say in how your care is arranged and delivered, but you are not responsible for managing the money or being the employer directly within this model.
